Here, physical theatre students, Lee and Joseph and dance student, Francesca, share pieces of advice and lessons they have already learned in their first two weeks at the Accademia.

I’m trying to take a picture of the church every day(ish) from the teatrino and I really like how the grey highlights the duomo in this one

I think the coolest part about being here is the connections I find. There’s a line at the end of Fiddler on the Roof when everyone is leaving Anatevka. Tevye is heading to New York and hears that his friend is going to Chicago. “We’ll be neighbors!” Here it is just the opposite. We all traveled from so many places in the United States only to realize many of us have domestic connections. One of my friends here goes to college 40 minutes from me. A faculty member knows my dad’s best friend. People are from the same city or state and had never met until they got here. Who knew I could travel thousands of miles away and still find people who live so close to me.
