Abril Castillo-Costa

Today is the 15th of September, which marks two weeks of being in Arezzo at the Accademia. Despite today marking the first two weeks, it feels like I have been here for months. I think that is perhaps because of how eventful the past weeks have been. As I write this I am laying in bed with sore muscles, heavy eyelids, and a tired mind, but I am so happy. Being so exhausted is so fulfilling because it is a consequence of being fully immersed in my craft. I am so glad I will be staying here for a year full of devouring the knowledge that is thrown at us. I also will be devouring the delicious food and culture that I have already begun to experience in Arezzo and on our brief trip to Florence. But even without travelling anywhere I am submerged in beauty every day at the villa (examples in the attached pictures). I am so excited for what the year, the Accademia, and Italy will present to me.
